Today, at the ripe ol' age of 3, for the first time, Toby mixed an important milestone into his day. He enjoyed his first movie, in a theatre, with popcorn and a hotdog. As his parents are movie connoisseurs (to say the least), it was only a matter of time before we shared this slice of life with him.
We saw "Veggie Tales: The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything". He loved it. We only had one potty break in the middle, and he tried somewhat hard to keep from yelling things outloud such as "that's funny!" or "WOW!" We're still working on the volume control in normal life, so theatre's are going to be a real challenge for a while. Rob and I were a bit nervous thinking our money might being flushed down the drain as we pictured ourselves leaving half way through with an uncooperative child. This went much better than we'd expected.
The movie is very cute. Wonderful message. Appropriate for all ages. My only comment - where's Bob the Tomato? He's our favorite and was missing. Should we be looking closer at the ketchup on our hotdogs? hmm...
I'll need to mark this day in the Baby Book. January 13th, 2008 - Toby see's his first movie in a theatre with his first movie popcorn. He's practically all grown up (j/k).

That is so cute to imagine him at the movies! In the summer they have free movies two mornings a week for kids at our local theatre. It is such a great program and my kids love going to it. The only problem is that now they don't think going to the movies is as big as a novelty as I did.
I went to the theater on Sunday for a mommy-break;-) I saw 27-Dresses with a friend. Cute and fun. Think it will be a while before R. goes;-) Thanks for posting!
