Our poor little dollar is weak right now. The Euro just gained an all-time high over the dollar. At the time that I write this, the US Dollar equals $1.5958 for every Euro.
When I traveled through Europe, I used to measure the value of the dollar based on how much it actually cost me to buy a Coke in a can. It was the Coke Index, I guess you could say. I traveled in the years from '97-'00 (prior to the introduction of the Euro) and a Coke at home was about $.75 to $1.00 most places. In Europe, I could pay $1.25 - $2.00 for a Coke. What do you think it is now? Probably like $3.50.
